This has been a great year for me at Scouting University and I have really enjoyed the challenge. I look forward to seeing Scouting University grow in the future. I have taken on the role of Area Commissioner for the new Sturgeon Area which will start to consume considerable time and effort this coming year. I need some help to make Scouting University happen this coming year.
Join the Evolution
I want to see Scouting University Grow because is has so much potential. To do that, we need to form a Management Committee with an even mix of adult Scouters and Rovers & Vents who can take on various roles and help steer the effort to grow Scouting University to the next evolution.
If you want to make Scouting University more enjoyable with a wider variety of topics being delivered by the youth and Scouters, then I invite you to join the evolution.
I am asking for those interested to contact me. You do not have to be a trainer, nor do you have to be a super experienced Scouter. We need people who can work together to organize and run the various events. We will build out roles and descriptions once we have some names on our list. I want to schedule a meeting or web conference so we can discuss how to structure the committee and move forward.
To volunteer, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and let me know what you are interested in doing with the committee. I would like to confirm a list of volunteers by mid-July and hold a preliminary organization meeting this summer before the new Scouting year launches.
The coming year
As I wanted to ensure that we booked a date for our annual Fall Scouting University and other events, I already reserved the date. Scouting University Fall 2016 is scheduled for Saturday, November 19th.
